After you create an off-catalog item for auction or browse your company's catalog for an item to auction, you need to enter auction parameters such as the auction start and end dates, shipping information, opening price, and so forth. The process described below is applicable to both forward and reverse auctions.
Screen colors differ:
Blue is for sellers.
Green is for buyers.
To access the Create Auction : Step 2 of 2 page:
Select Auctions > Initiate/Maintain from the menu bar.
The Auctions : <company name> List page appears.
Click the Create button.
The Create Auction : Step 1 of 2 page appears.
Enter the item.
For instructions for entering the item, see Creating Auction for Off-Catalog Item or Creating Auction for Catalog Item.
Click the Next button.
The Create Auction : Step 2 of 2 page appears.
To continue creating an auction after entering the item you want to auction:
Enter the Quantity of items to be auctioned.
Select a Start Date from the drop-down menus.
This is the date when you would like the auction to begin.
Select a start time from the drop-down menus.
Select AM or PM from the drop-down list box.
Alternatively, select the Open Immediately check box to have the auction open as soon as you complete all parameters.
This overrides any date/time entered selected from the Start Date fields
Select an End Date from the drop-down menus.
This is the date when you would like the auction to end.
Select an end time from the drop-down menus.
Select AM or PM from the drop-down list box.
If you want an auction to go into the closing state after the designated End Date/Time, select the checkbox next to Goes Into CLOSING State After Auction End Date is Reached.
Enter the Reopen Time in days, hours, and minutes. This relates to the amount of time the auction will remain open after it has reopened.
This can be done by the initiator at the time the auction is created, or when the auction goes into the Closing state and the initiator is specifying the reopen length of time.
Enter the number of days, hours, and minutes in the Extension Window field, if applicable.
This specifies a time period prior to the auction close date during which the system monitors for bidding activity. If there is any bidding activity within this time period, the auction end date is extended by the amount of time specified by the extension time parameters.
Enter the number of days, hours, and minutes in the Extension Time field, if applicable.
This is the time to extend auction beyond the originally scheduled end date.
Enter the number of times an extension can occur in the Extends field, if applicable.
Enter the location from which the item will be shipped in the Shipped From field.
Enter the name of shipping service provider in the Shipping Method field.

To complete the pricing criteria:
Select the local currency from the Currency drop-down list box.
This field appears when creating all forward and reverse auction types.
Select Fixed (a set currency increment) or Percentage (relative to a previously entered bid) from the Bid Increment Type drop-down list box.
This field appears when creating an auction for the following auction types:

Enter the bid at which the auction will open in the Open Price field.
This field appears when creating all forward and reverse auction types.
Enter the lowest bid difference in the Bid Increment field that you will allow to bidders in their attempt to reach the winning status.
This field appears when creating an auction for the following auction types:

Note:
For the Bidder Outbid Self and the Reverse Bidder Outbid Self auction types, the increment or decrement is enforced against a bidder's own last bid.
Enter the lowest price you are willing to accept for an item in the Reserve Price field.

Note:
Bidders can see their own ranking only in Bidder Outbid Self and Reverse Bidder Outbid Self auction types, provided the initiator has selected Rank or Rank/Amount from the Display Bids by drop-down list box.
When Rank is selected, bidders see the Rank of all bidders, but the amount of their own bid
Select Company Name (identifies the company), Company Alias (no company names appear, keeping bidders anonymous), or Undisclosed (no company names or aliases appear) from the Display Bidders by drop-down list box.

Click the Create button.
Your company's Auctions : <company name> List page appears.
Select the status of the auction you just created from the Status drop-down list box to display the list of auctions created by your company with that status, including the new auction you just created.
