PrefaceThe SunTM Cluster Error Messages Guide contains a list of error messages that might be seen on the console or in syslog(3) files while running Sun Cluster software on both SPARCTM and x86 based systems. For most error messages, there is an explanation and a suggested solution. Note – In this document, the term “x86” refers to the Intel 32-bit family of microprocessor chips and compatible microprocessor chips made by AMD. This document is intended for experienced system administrators with extensive knowledge of Sun software and hardware. The instructions in this book assume knowledge of the SolarisTM operating environment and expertise with the volume manager software used with Sun Cluster software. Note – Sun Cluster software runs on two platforms, SPARC and x86. The information in this document pertains to both platforms unless otherwise specified in a special chapter, section, note, bulleted item, figure, table, or example. Using UNIX CommandsThis document contains information on error messages generated by Sun Cluster software. This document may not contain information on basic UNIX® commands and procedures such as shutting down the system, booting the system, and configuring devices.
