The GNOME 2.0 Desktop for the Solaris Operating Environment Accessibility Guide describes how to configure, customize, and use the accessibility features of the GNOME 2.0 desktop for the Solaris™ 8 operating environment and the Solaris 9 operating environment.

Who Should Use This Book

This manual is for users, system administrators, and anyone who is interested in how the GNOME 2.0 desktop satisfies Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act.

How This Book Is Organized

This manual is structured in the following manner:

Chapter 1, Introduction to Accessibility introduces you to accessibility in the GNOME desktop.
Chapter 2, Configuring the Mouse and Keyboard describes how to configure the mouse and keyboard to make these devices accessible to more users.
Chapter 3, Using the Keyboard to Navigate the Desktop describes how to navigate the desktop from the keyboard only.
Chapter 4, Customizing the Appearance of the Desktop describes the methods you can use to change the appearance of the desktop to enhance the accessibility of the desktop for users with visual impairments.
