Preface

The Solaris^TM 8 (Intel Platform Edition) 2/02 Release Notes contains installation problem details and other information that were not available until immediately before the release of the Solaris 8 2/02 operating environment.

In this document the term "IA" refers to the Intel 32-bit processor architecture, which includes the Pentium, Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium II Xeon, Celeron, Pentium III, Pentium III Xeon, and Pentium 4 processors and compatible microprocessor chips made by AMD.

Who Should Use This Book

These notes are for users and system administrators who are installing and using the Solaris 8 2/02 operating environment.

The following table describes the typographic changes used in this book.
