PrefaceSunVTS 3.0 is Sun's online Validation Test Suite. SunVTS is a comprehensive software diagnostic package that tests and validates Sun hardware by verifying the configuration and functionality of most hardware controllers, devices, and platforms. The primary audience of this manual is hardware testing and verification personnel, qualified service-trained maintenance providers, and advanced system end users. This book describes the installation, configuration, and use of SunVTS. How This Book Is OrganizedChapter 1, SunVTS 3.0 Overview provides an overview of SunVTS, the SunVTS user interfaces, SunVTS architecture and SunVTS test modes. Chapter 2, Installing and Removing SunVTS describes the SunVTS packages and installation procedures. Chapter 3, Starting SunVTS covers all the different methods used to start SunVTS. Chapter 4, SunVTS User Interfaces describes the CDE and OPEN LOOK SunVTS graphical user interfaces (GUIs), the TTY interface and command line syntax for configuring the SunVTS test session. Chapter 5, SunVTS Test Environment describes the concepts and features of SunVTS. Chapter 6, Troubleshooting provides problem-solving techniques for SunVTS. Appendix A, SunVTS Tutorial provides step by step instructions to use to become familiar with the basic concepts of the SunVTS diagnostic.
