- If you use the VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM) in conjunction with AP, you must perform extra steps when creating and deleting disk pathgroups.
Creating Disk Pathgroups with VxVM
- After you create a disk pathgroup as described in "Creating Disk Pathgroups and Meta-Disks" on page 4-2, you must run the following command:

- This allows VxVM to rediscover the new configuration. Be sure to run this command after you run the other required commands (in the proper order), i.e.:

apdisk -c
-
apdb -C
-
drvconfig -i ap_dmd
-
apconfig -R
-
vxdctl enable
Deleting Disk Pathgroups with VxVM
- The process of deleting a disk pathgroup is described in "Deleting Disk Pathgroups" on page 4-8. If you are using VxVM, however, you must instruct VxVM to stop using a meta-disk before you delete the corresponding disk pathgroup. For more information, see the VxVM documentation.
