Connector Pinouts and Cabling
B
B.1 SPARCstorage Array Fiber Optic Cables
- Refer to the SPARCcluster High Availability Server Hardware Planning and Installation Manual for information on connecting SPARCstorage arrays to a node using the fiber optic cables. Refer to Chapter 9 for a SPARCcluster 1000 HA server; Chapter 10 for a SPARCcluster 2000HA server.
B.2 Terminal Concentrator Ports
- Refer to the SPARCcluster High Availability Server Hardware Planning and Installation Manual to connect serial ports on the terminal concentrator to the system console and the serial ports on your system nodes. Refer to Chapter 9 for a SPARCcluster 1000HA server and to Chapter 10 for a 2000HA server.
B.2.1 RJ-45 Serial Port Connectors
- Port 1 of the terminal concentrator is designated as the terminal concentrator console port. Ports 2 and 3 are designated for nodes 0 and 1, respectively. The connector configuration is shown in Figure B-1 and the pin allocations are given in Table B-1.

B.2.2 Public Ethernet Connector
- The primary public Ethernet network connects to the AUI Ethernet transceiver port on the terminal concentrator. The port receptacle is shown in Figure B-2, pin allocations are given in Table B-2.

B.3 Private Net Cables (Short/Long)
- Both nodes in an HA system are connected via two private nets using two special (either short or long) Ethernet cables. The cables are twisted pair, Category Type 5. Refer to the SPARCcluster High Availability Server Hardware Planning and Installation Manual to cable the private nets on your system. Refer to Chapter 9 for a SPARCcluster 1000HA server and to Chapter 10 for a 2000HA server. The pinout for these cables is as listed in Table B-3.
